Easter is one of the most favourite holidays in Armenia. People celebrate it at the end of March or in April. This year Easter will be celebrated on April 9. It is a Christian holiday . On this day people greet each other by saying “Christ is risen!” and the answer is “Truly, he is risen!” Armenians prepare for Easter 40 days before it. They make malts (ածիկ).. On this day Armenians go to church and then come home, sit at the tables and the whole family celebrates Easter. The Easter meal is fish, dyed eggs and red wine.

The egg is considered a symbol of new life. The color red symbolizes the blood of Jesus

Children play Easter games. They begin to fight with their eggs and have fun in it. 

Զատիկը Հայաստանում ամենասիրված տոներից է։ Մարդիկ այն նշում են մարտի վերջին կամ ապրիլին։ Այս տարի Սուրբ Զատիկը կնշվի ապրիլի 9-ին։ Այն քրիստոնեական տոն է։ Այս օրը մարդիկ միմյանց ողջունում են
«Քրիստոս ծնավ և հայտնեցավ»․ «Օրհնյալ է հայտնությունը Քրիստոսի, մեզ և ձեզ մեծ ավետիս»
Հայերը Սուրբ Զատիկին պատրաստվում են դրանից 40 օր առաջ. Նրանք ածիկ են պատրաստում… Այս օրը հայերը գնում են եկեղեցի, հետո գալիս տուն, նստում սեղանների շուրջ և ամբողջ ընտանիքը նշում է Զատիկը։ Զատկի ճաշը ձուկ է, ներկած ձու և կարմիր գինի։

Ձուն համարվում է նոր կյանքի խորհրդանիշ: Կարմիր գույնը խորհրդանշում է Հիսուսի արյունը։

Երեխաները խաղում են Զատիկի խաղեր: Նրանք սկսում են կռվել իրենց ձվերով և ուրախանալ։
